Use of Atrovent Nasal Spray should not exceed 4 days if treating a cold, or 3 weeks if treating allergies. Effects from more extended use are unclear.

Effects are noticeable about 15 to 30 minutes after administration, and last 5 to 6 hours. Dosage may vary to some extent between patients; for example, a doctor may recommend just one spray three times per day. These deviations are fairly unusual, however.
